Swimmers Take Your Mark!

The 2010 season of swimming is set to begin. We are looking forward to another exciting and successful summer filled with Legend Pride. Sleepy Hollow has a tremendous record of success. That success is based on three things:

* dedication
* work ethic
* team pride

We will continue to provide the best stroke instruction possible to ensure personal & team success.

Spring practices

Spring workouts are not optional. Although we know that our swimmers are involved in other activities, we would like to see them at workout as much as possible. Spring workouts make up almost ½ of the entire season (6 weeks). Don't wait until the summer workouts begin to really dive into your swimming.

Expectations

We pride ourselves on running organized, structured workouts that provide the best learning opportunity possible. We expect our swimmers to focus, follow directions and give maximum effort at each workout. Sometimes, that involves tough love. We care about our swimmers and this team and feel we do a great job of balancing hard work and discipline in a positive fun environment.

The best thing about coaching is watching a swimmer do something they did not think possible. The feeling of satisfaction the swimmer gets and the confidence they build is awesome.

Keys to a LEGENDARY Season

* Come to practice - The season is shorter than you think and goes fast. Attendance is the primary factor in a swimmers improvement and success. We need to see you as much as possible.

* Be on time - We need all swimmers on time and ready to go at practice and meets. Being on time is one of the most important life skills anyone can learn.

* Be prepared - Proper swim suit (no board shorts or swim shirts), swim caps for long hair and proper fitting goggles are essential tools for each swimmer. Would you go to school without a pencil?

* Give your best - Simply put, you get out of it what you put into it. Come to the workout with a positive attitude and give 100%. Each practice, you should aspire to be the best workout swimmer in your group.

* Pride - This team has a long tradition of Legend Pride, the foundation of which has been built on commitment, hard work and the expectation of excellence.

Parents at workouts

We ask that all parents stay in the table area during workout time. Please do not talk with your swimmers during the workout, let us run the workouts. If you have a question or need to talk with a coach, leave a note in the coach's office, we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thank you in advance for the many hours you will devote to the team this summer. Whether you are a seasoned veteran or a new family, we hope your swim team experience will be a rewarding one. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or suggestions.
